May 20, 2025, email regarding your request for a proclamation by the Government of Alberta to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. As Minister of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration, I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

 

The Government of Alberta deeply values the recognition of significant historical events, milestones and cultural contributions that shape our province’s diverse communities.

 

We commend the Bosnian community in Canada for its continued efforts to raise awareness of the Srebrenica genocide. Alberta remains committed to honouring the memory of the victims and recognizing the courage and resilience of the survivors and their loved ones.

 

I am pleased to inform you that I will be recognizing July 11, 2025 Srebrenica Commemoration and Remembrance Day in Alberta.
