Svečano obilježen dvodecenijski rad Instituta za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i međunarodnog prava

U povodu zapaženog dvodecenijskog naučnoistraživačkog rada i uspješnog funkcioniranja Institut za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i meÄ‘unarodnog prava Univerziteta u Sarajevu je svečano obilježio taj značajni jubilej.

U ime Univerziteta u Sarajevu prof. dr. Faruk Mekić, prorektor Univerziteta u Sarajevu, uputio je čestitke Institutu za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i meÄ‘unarodnog prava i riječi dobrodošlice prisutnima istakavši da je Institut, naučnoistraživačka ustanova i članica Univerziteta, dragulj Univerziteta u Sarajevu.

„Institut je, po ostvarenim naučnim rezultatima u oblasti društvenih i humanističkih nauka, od značaja za nauku i njen razvoj i društvenu praksu ne samo u Bosni i Hercegovini nego i u svijetu i nesumnjivo je reprezentativni predstavnik Univerziteta u Sarajevu“, naglasio je prorektor Mekić.

Govoreći o Institutu i njegovim rezultatima nakon 22 godine, dr. Mevludin Mekić, predsjednik Upravnog odbora Univerziteta u Sarajevu, istakao je da je riječ o ustanovi kojom bi se mogle ponositi i mnogo bogatije i razvijenije države. Podsjetivši na latinsku izreku
 Divinum opus est sedare dolorem („Umanjiti bol božansko je djelo“), dr. Mevludin Mekić je naveo da slično ovoj sentenci Institut smanjuje teške boli svih žrtava genocida u Bosni i Hercegovini i šire dokazivanjem istine o strašnom zločinu.
„Uposlenici i saradnici Instituta, pod rukovodstvom poznatog istraživača akademika ÄŒekića, istovremeno govore i u ime svih nevino ubijenih žrtava, na čemu su im sadašnje generacije zahvalne, a nadam se i buduća pokoljenja“, istakao je dr. Mevludin Mekić.

Institut za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i meÄ‘unarodnog prava Univerziteta u Sarajevu je formiran u septembru 1992. godine u izuzetno složenim i teškim društvenim, političkim, ekonomskim, vojnim i sigurnosnim uvjetima, složenim unutrašnjim zbivanjima u meÄ‘unarodnim odnosima.

U uvodnom izlaganju prof. dr. Smail Čekić, direktor Instituta, predstavio je nastanak, razvoj i funkcioniranje Instituta u periodu od 1992. do 2013. godine.

„Dvadeset dvije godine je i prekratak i predugačak ili relativno dug period u kojem su ispisane svijetle stranice ove naučnoistraživačke ustanove od posebnog društvenog, naučnog, nacionalnog i državnog značaja za Bosnu i Hercegovinu, za žrtve genocida i drugih oblika zločina protiv čovječnosti i meÄ‘unarodnog prava ne samo u Bosni i Hercegovini već i znatno šire, kao i od značaja za razvoj naučnog saznanja o najsloženijoj društvenoj pojavi i njegovoj naučnoj upotrebljivosti i društvenoj svrsishodnosti“, istakao je direktor ÄŒekić.

Naglasivši da se Institut razvijao kroz odreÄ‘ene etape, neodvojive od etapa i faza društvenog, političkog, obrazovnog i naučnog razvoja društva, a koje su obilježene brojnim kadrovskim, materijalnim, finansijskim, prostornim i drugim problemima, direktor ÄŒekić je podsjetio na brojne realizirane naučnoistraživačke projekte i konferencije o predmetnoj tematici (nacionalnog i meÄ‘unarodnog karaktera).
Institut je objavio 110 izdanja, a uposlenici Instituta su u raznim časopisima objavili 187 naučnih radova, te u izdanju drugih ustanova i institucija objavili su 23 publikacije. U statusu organizatora, suorganizatora ili učesnika, naučnici-istraživači i istraživači-saradnici Instituta su imali aktivnu i zapaženu ulogu na 172 naučne, domaće i meÄ‘unarodne konferencije, okrugla stola i seminara. Promovirali su 330 knjiga, uradili desetine recenzija, moderirali promocije više od 120 knjiga iz oblasti istraživanja zločina protiv čovječnosti i meÄ‘unarodnog prava, te održali oko 150 predavanja i tribina u BiH i inozemstvu.
 

„Agresija na Republiku Bosnu i Hercegovinu i genocid nad Bošnjacima su trajni predmet istraživačke aktivnosti Instituta, koja se odvija po modelu tipskog projekta istraživanja, a koja je imenovana kao strateška. Ta centralna, fundamentalna, bitna istraživačka aktivnost iskazana je kao predmetna obaveza dugoročnog istraživanja, utvrÄ‘ena planom i programima rada Instituta“, istakao je direktor ÄŒekić.

Nakon pozdravnih obraćanja i uvodnog izlaganja akademik Muhamed Filipović je govorio o značaju istraživanja genocida u kontekstu moderne historije, a prof. dr. Mirko Pejanović je promovirao monografiju „Nastanak, razvoj i funkcionisanje Instituta za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i meÄ‘unarodnog prava Univerziteta u Sarajevu 1992–2013.“.
 

Institut za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i međunarodnog prava je punopravna članica Univerziteta u Sarajevu, koja je, kao naučnoistraživačka ustanova, zahvaljujući prvenstveno rezultatima naučnih istraživanja, ostvarila izuzetno značajne rezultate i naučno-stručnu afirmaciju i respekt u Evropi i svijetu.

Svečanoj sjednici su prisustvovali predstavnici Instituta za istraživanje genocida, Kanada I Kongresa Bošnjaka Sjeverne Amerike.

U okviru svečanosti profesoru Emiru Ramiću, Direktoru Instituta za istraživanje genocida, Kanada je na prijedlog Nučno istraživačkog vijeća Instituta za istraživanje zločina protiv čovječnosti i meÄ‘unarodnog prava, Univerziteta u Sarajevu uručena Povelja za izuzetan doprinos u istraživanju genocida i drugih oblika zločina protiv čovječnosti  meÄ‘unarodnog prava i istrajnoj borbi za ljudska prava, slobode i ljudsko dostojanstvo, kao i za afirmaciju, promociju i očuvanje države Bosne i Hercegovine, te razvoju mira, humanizma i progresa u svijetu.

The 20th Anniversary of the UNSA Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law Marked

On the occasion of marking the 20th Anniversary of the UNSA Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law, the ceremony was held at the UNSA Rectorate’s Ceremonial Hall on 29 May 2014.

UNSA Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Faruk Mekic congratulated to the Institute representatives and held the welcome speech.  In his speech, Vice-Rector Mekic stressed the importance of the Institute.

“When it comes to actual scientific results in the fields of social sciences and humanities, the Institute is undoubtedly the representative member of the University of Sarajevo, not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the world" said Vice-Rector Mekic.

When speaking about the Institute and its results after 22 years, Dr. Mevludin Mekic, Chairman of the UNSA Steering Committee pointed out that it was an institution which could make proud even richer and more developed states. Recalling the Latin proverb “Sedar dolorem divinum opus est”( “What divine deed is reducing the pain”) , Dr. Mevludin Mekic said that just like that proverb, the Institute reduced the severe pain of all genocide victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond by proving the truth of a terrible crime.
„The Institute’s employees and associates, under the leadership of renowned academician and researcher Cekic also speak on behalf of all the murdered innocent victims, for which the present generation feels gratitude, and I hope and the future ones," said Dr. Mevludin Mekic.

The Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law of the Sarajevo University was established in September 1992. Under extremely complex and difficult social, political, economic, military, and security conditions and complex internal developments in international relations.

In his opening address Prof. Dr. Smail Cekic, Institute’s Director presented the conception, development and functioning of the Institute during the period from 1992 to 2013.

“Twenty  two years are either too long or too short and relatively long period in which the bright pages of this research institutions of special social, scientific, national and state importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina were written, for the victims of genocide and other forms of crimes against humanity and international law, not only in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also much wider for the development of scientific knowledge about one of the most complex social phenomenon and its scientific usefulness and social expediency "said Director Cekic.

Noting that the Institute went through certain stages, inseparable from the stages and phases of social, political, educational and scientific development of the society , which were marked by numerous personnel, material, financial, environmental and other problems, Director Cekic recalled the numerous realized research projects and conference on the subject topic (of national and international importance).

The Institute has published 110 publications. The employees of the Institute published 187 scientific papers in various magazines, and by other organizations and institutions’ journals 23. The status of the organizers, co-organizers or participants, scientists - researchers and explorers associates of the Institute had an active and prominent role in 172 scientific - national and international conferences, round tables and seminars. They promoted 330 books, done dozens of reviews, moderated promoted more than 120 books in the field of research of crimes against humanity and international law, and held 150 lectures and discussions in BiH and abroad.

“The Aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and genocide against Bosniaks are the subject of continuous research activities of the Institute, which is following the standard design research designated as the strategic ones. The central, fundamental, important research activity has been recorded as long-term obligations subject of research, established plans and programs of the Institute" said Director Cekic.

After the welcome address and introductory remarks, Academician Muhamed Filipovic spoke about the importance of researching the genocide  in the context of modern history. Prof. Mirko Pejanovic promoted the monograph “The creation, development and functioning of the Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law, University of Sarajevo from 1992 to 2013".

The Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law is a full member of the University of Sarajevo, which, as research institution, primarily thanks to the results of scientific research, achieved extraordinary significant results and scientific affirmation and respect in Europe and the world.

Formal session was attended by representatives of the Institute for Research of Genocide, Canada and the Congress of North American Bosniaks.

As part of the ceremony Professor Emir Ramic, director of the Institute for Research of Genocide, Canada's on the proposal of the Research Council of the Institute for Research of Crimes against Humanity and International Law, University of Sarajevo is awarded the Charter for outstanding contribution to the study of genocide and other forms of crimes against humanity and international law perseveringly for human rights, freedom and human dignity, as well as for the recognition, promotion and preservation of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the development of peace, humanism and progress in the world.
